Life is like a rose, it’s beautiful indeed. It’s a precious gift that God gave us. If we can see a rose flower then we’ll be able to appreciate the beauty of it thus, we can also recognize and appreciate “what life is”. If we’re going to look at it, then we’ll see the real beaut of it. It has different colours which presents “a life to be colourful too”. Colourful in a way that from the very beginning of our existence we’ve experienced different encounters and different things in our lives. Some were good and some were bad as well. But the fact that it has different colour then it means to say that “life is very beautiful”. We have to learn to appreciate our life and our existence for us to appreciate God might as well. The thorns of it could mean our flaws and weaknesses in life. We may experience ‘ups and downs’ and these thorns could be associated to our ‘downs’. But there are ways on how to deal with these thorns or shall I say with these downs.
Firstly, we can use or wrap the stem with thorns in a cloth or anything that could cover the thorns so that it could not hurt us. From there, you can hold the rose without hurting yourself. Secondly, we can actually take out its thorns, or perhaps get rid of it. Just like in real life. Thorns or downs are always present in our lives, normally it always prevails, but we have to find ways on how to deal with it and get rid of it. Thirdly, if we’re not able to wrap and to get rid of its thorns, then probably we’ll just have to be pricked by its thorns so that we will learn our lesson and by the time we feel the pain then we can say that “I don’t want to be pricked again by its thorns and feel this pain anymore”. And from what we’ve learnt, then we’ll be able to “appreciate more the beauty of what life may bring”.
Eventually, we will realize that God made the rose with its thorns because He knew well that people need thorns in their lives to strengthen their faith unto Him. And He knew that it could be helpful for the people to realize the welfare and for the betterment of everyone and He knew that through these thorns we’ll be able to surpass all the trials that He gave to us.
