The World Economic Forum graded 135 countries as their respondents and based their national gender gaps on economic, political, education and health based criteria. Accordant with the report, the country got a perfect score in educational attainment and health and survival as well.

In the meantime, the country got an almost passing grade in economic involvement and opportunity, however, failed in political empowerment. However, the chair of the senate committee on education pointed out that “the Philippines have not completely closed the gender gap”.  But, the Philippines have improved its ranking in gender equality from its number 9 last year. This proceeding and continuous improvement in the country’s gender equality indicants is a huge pace towards accomplishing the Third Millennium Development Goal.

These rankings that were being designated by the international organizations are really helpful to make people realized and create a greater awareness globally, thus, in time gender equality could be resolved and reduced for a fair and better opportunities to all.
