Celebrating the Month of National Language

Versions of different Filipino people, ethnic, tribes and folks of the republic of the Philippines have many reasons why we celebrate August as the month of our national language. It marks yearly the celebration of Buwan ng Wika, which cue as to give honour and tribute to our national language which is “Filipino”. Write-ups and headlines for stories in social networking sites, newspapers are encouraged featuring this long month celebration of our national language so to speak. And might as well as everybody including the students, professors, readers and writer to encouraged themselves to participate in activities promoting the use of national language.

It should have been understood that the Philippines has rich in many cultures, and speaks different languages throughout the country. I guess, it should be better for all of us to strengthen and be proud of our language as Filipinos. But I want to point out that we should be also proud in our own tongue, which means trying to promote Filipino a mixture of different dialect and languages (but to others it’s just a Tagalog in disguise). The Buwan ng Wika should be a line of approach to celebrate the richness of our pluralistic culture. This is not actually about Tagalog, but this is also about celebrating all the dialect we use to enrich them especially to those native speakers that we have. We should love our own language.
